La Resaca Seafood Bar
If you ever find yourself cruising through El Centro, California, and craving a seafood fix, La Resaca Seafood Bar is one spot you won’t want to miss. Tucked away at 143 S 6th St, this local gem brings bold coastal flavors to the desert in a setting that’s as inviting as it is delicious.
From the moment you walk in, the vibe strikes a balance between classy and relaxed. It’s got that polished feel perfect for date night or celebrating something special, but it’s also totally welcoming for families—with plenty of outdoor seating that’s ideal for sunny California days.
Now, let’s talk food—because that’s where La Resaca really shines. One of the all-time favorites here is the Grilled Octopus—tender, smoky, and seasoned to perfection. If you’re feeling adventurous, the Lobster Estilo Puerto Nuevo is an absolute must. It’s a Baja-style lobster dish that brings serious flavor with a side of nostalgia for those familiar with coastal Mexican cuisine.
For something on the lighter side, the Habanero Tuna Bowl is a popular choice, bringing together fresh tuna, tropical mango, and a spicy kick of habanero for a sweet-heat combo that packs a punch. Not into spice? The Fried Calamari is crispy, golden, and totally addictive.
La Resaca Seafood Bar has become something of a local favorite, not just for its creative seafood menu, but for its laid-back charm and attentive service. Whether you're popping in for a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely evening with friends and family, it delivers the kind of experience that keeps people coming back.

Good: decor, service, price Average: Food itself was just ok. Will I come back. Yes
My wife and I tried this place and we really enjoyed it. The food was on point, they didn't take long to being us what we ordered. The gentleman who served us was very kind and knowledgeable and the ambiance of the place was calm by the time we were there (Saturday evening between 5-7pm). My wife ordered the habanero tuna bowl with mango and I ordered sone fish tacos and to drink sone lemonades. Our food tasted great, they were good portions and we will definitely come back.
We had a Famiiy dinner at Resaca's. The food was excellent but the service was fantastic. We had a waiter (Yobel) who was fantastic. With so many of us asking him for this and asking him for that. He was always courteous and delivered whatever we asked for or needed with a smile. Hats off to Yobel. You're a great waiter.
La Resaca is the place to be for seafood! It has made consistently very large portions of ceviche and aguachile dishes the two times I visited. Their dining hall is large and can accommodate large parties. I definitely recommend that you try their tacos and fresh ceviche.
